Alberi del Paradiso, Cefalù – A hidden gem in the crown of Sicily

We were drawn to Sicily for a wedding and took the opportunity to head to Cefalù for a few days break.

This is a delightful old Sicilian town located about an hour’s journey by road from Palermo Airport in the North of the island.

So often I’ve heard of people choosing hotels because they are cheap, or on the beach or the closest to the shops… for me this is a nonsense. The right hotel needs to offer charm, character, finesse and above all quality.

Located on the edge of the town with free car parking, pool, gardens and much more stands the Alberi del Paradiso Hotel.

We parked our car under the solar canopy in the free, ample spaced car park.

This is a hotel with charm and character and this was just the reception!

This hotel was designed with flair for colour, texture and style.

We had hired a car and whilst this enabled us to go down to the old town or to the private beach, the hotel kindly provide a regular free shuttle for guests use.

We were shown to our room.. this is not a huge hotel which makes it all the more appealing, and the staff are delightful, introducing us to our new home for the next four days.

We saw a number of rooms and all were well appointed but we were spoilt with a spacious suite. There was a small lounge area before entering the bedroom.

Our bathroom had a jacuzzi, twin sinks, bidet and toilet.

The dining area is located on the lower ground floor and while we didn’t get the opportunity to have dinner in the hotel we did have breakfast and boy was it fab! The food was fresh and included all the usual and cakes. Beautiful Italian cakes that only an Italian would know how to make.

Whilst it also had two small balconies we chose to spend time in the gardens by the pool.

The well groomed grounds here are delightful with trees and a tennis court.

This is a beautiful hotel, full of charm and professional staff. It’s a place to recharge, rest, relax and for some to recuperate. The four R’s.

If you are looking for a break with a great breakfast, good bed and in a delightful location you’ll not be disappointed with this hidden gem.
