The Tulip Museum, Amsterdam – A beautiful flower that didn’t come from Amsterdam

If you’ve never heard of Tulips from Amsterdam then you likely have lived under a rock.

Amsterdam is famous for Tulip fields and everything associated with flowers and this famous bulb of many varieties.

So we decided to use our I amsterdam city cards to get free entry in to the basement museum at the Tulip Museum close to the Ann Frank house.

Here you get to see a short film and have the opportunity to follow the journey of tulips being introduced and traded as a commodity in Amsterdam. At one time the bulbs were more valuable than gold.

It’s an interesting place to visit where you can buy bulbs of any one of the huge variety of this famous flower for your own pleasure.
