The Parkfield Inn – a place that’s sociable

We met with close friends on Saturday night at the Parkfield Inn in Whitefield, down the bottom end of Park Lane.

Surprisingly this pub was quieter than I expected and the restaurant even quieter for a Saturday night.

Generally when I socialise with friends over dinner I hate the feeling that anyone is excluded from the conversation or at the end of a table.

We were pleasantly surprised to be given a round table for six in the corner.

The menu was quite varied and the noise level thankfully way below talking levels… so we were off to a good start.

This place is great for a simple meal out, good hot food that is well presented. in fact that was the odd thing … the decor was pleasant but shows lack of interior design to maximise the potential value of the place.

The starter I thought was very over priced and frankly less than perfect… I had the mushroom tortellini, but everything else was actually very tasty, well cooked, well presented and brought to the table at the same time.

Would I go back? Yes I would as it was local… Would I make a special trip across town? Errr… probably not.
