A short drive from our accommodation in a Newby Bridge stands Oxen Park. You can reach it down the narrowest of country lanes with few passing places or you can take the A roads.
In the centre of Oxen Park stood our first dinner venue where we had a booking, called the Manor House.
There was a large outdoor seating area overlooking this small hamlet and plenty of social distancing inside, with perspex panels hanging between tables.
The staff all had masks, with the exception of those that didn’t because they were exempt.
The food coming out of the kitchen looked good and their house speciality of lamb was clearly popular.
The Lake District is indeed busy with staycations and limited restaurant covers.
So if you fancy a bite in this popular place I recommend booking. You can find more info here.
