Our weekend break in Amsterdam led me to search for suitable accommodation and to find this little gem in the most perfect location in the Museum Quarter of the city.
Its location was ideal for trams and appeared central to everything.
What I loved most about the hotel was its genuine uniqueness, lost in its own rules and character. Nothing shaped around the standard, the norm or the usual.
The lobby was like a street, with casually dressed, friendly welcoming staff hovering over a floating desk. The encouraged online checkin meant non of this nonsense of completing forms; just keys and a quick explanation of where we were and where our room was.
Oh and how this place exudes originality.
Our room on the first floor, a basic room by their standards was so cleverly laid out that you had to stand back and take note of everything.
The sink and mirror were located in the middle of the room and the shower and toilets in separated cubicles.
The wallpaper like a casual sketch of the area.
Coffee machine, chocolates, caramel Dutch waffles.. oh and a handy bag to carry around the city.
There was a safe, cooler and so much more.. and that was just in the room.
I just loved this place!
Breakfast was found on the ground floor and set out to give a casual feel with warm tones and comfortable seating… and the food fresh, really well presented and everything that you’re likely to ask for.
I can’t recommend this place enough.
Check it out at here.
