During late 2021 I had the opportunity to visit this palatial building and gardens in Saffron Walden.
The illustrious history that lies behind its grandeur is something that you must discover for yourself.
Its many royal visitors and owners include James I, Charles II, Dukes, Earls and Barons.
The house is stunning with original 17th century kitchens and furniture.
During the war the site was used to train Polish resistance fighters before being taken over by the English Heritage.
