My wife and I were in need of a break. My criteria was peace and quiet, quality rooms with a great bed and shower. I wanted comfy sun loungers that I din’t need to fight for and high standards all round.
We opted for Tivoli, La Caleta.
It’s located next door to the H10 and about 15 minutes walk to the GF Victoria when you turn left out of the rear of the hotel or about 10 minutes to the sleepy village of La Caleta the opposite direction.
Our trip with Easy Jet could have been easier! The flight was delayed, the coach to the hotel was efficient but not fast and so by the time we arrived in Tenerife it was late, we were tired and could see little of the outside area.
As we arrived at the hotel so late, they offered us a credit in place of our missed dinner via room service. It was too late for us and so I requested that we could use the credit for lunch the following day, which they obliged.
Our accomodation was located on the fifth floor and we were not disappointed with our Ocean View Room.
The bedroom was spacious, calming and the king size bed exceptionally comfy. The bathroom was cleverly planned with a bath that we didn’t use, his and hers sinks, toilet and shower cubicle.
I loved the rain shower which was powered and gave good pressure at the touch of an on off button.
The view from the balcony, overlooked the beautifully manicured palm tree filled grounds, and provided clear views of the ocean.
The buffet itself was good where we ate breakfast and some evening meals, but the ambience of the main dining area and the lack of quality dressed tables let it down.
The hotel did have ‘Guilty’ a bar restaurant where you could eat lunch or order for by the pool.
There were two speciality restaurants, Yakuza and Seen. We ate one night in Yakuza, the Japanese culinary experience. It was excellent!
The hotel has other facilities such as a paddle court, spa, snooker table, evening entertainment and bars.
All in all this was a great hotel, and one that I look forward to coming back to.
