I’m just back from a weekend break in a fabulous city, Cambridge. I just loved it here .. so much I can’t wait to go back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was just so much to do, and it helped that the weather was good too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve only thought of Cambridge University when I think of this great city, but there is so much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are so many shops, places to eat, museums and architecture that one weekend is not enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That said, we booked the Ibis Hotel located right outside Central Station, a modern part of the city with developments in the works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We used the car park outside and paid for three days which cost us \u00a335 for our stay because we walked everywhere! I covered 18.3 km on foot in one day with my wife… 27000 steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotel is welcoming, with fun seating, decor and a unique character, similar to the 25 Hours Hotel in Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The staff welcomed us with smiles and humour, especially when we thought there were no lifts!<\/p>\n\n\n

The doors to the rooms were marked up with door numbers in a very modern way, and corridors were cruise-like in their appearance, as were the bathroom and room we stayed in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breakfast was fab on the first floor, with quirky seating and hot and fresh food in an airy space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rooms were so practical, as I mentioned. The wardrobe was just a hanging space with a rail and shelf. The bedside tables were a bit small but then for a phone and watch .. sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bathroom was as if it were delivered during the build as a unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ibis Hotel gets my full approval for a well-placed, functional, practical and friendly place to stay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
