Driving to the lakes from our home in Manchester we found sign posts in abundance for this popular national park found in Cumbria known as the Lake District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This place of natural beauty doesn’t disappoint visitors, offering weather variations that ensure you get the opportunity to wear all that trendy trekking gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We booked three nights in Newby Bridge at a recommended guest house called Hill Crest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On arrival we were met by Jane who showed us to our room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check-in here is 4pm and on arrival Jane provided a welcome cup of tea, scones, jam and cream in the conservatory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also a delightful lounge with games, tv and relaxing sofas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hill Crest has three rooms that are well appointed, restful and tastefully furnished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bed in the \u2018blue room\u2019 was top quality with freshly smelling laundered cotton sheets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our room had a double dormer roof so that we could look out the front and back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact our view included being able to see the local steam engine pulling carriages in the direction of Windermere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our room had reading lamps, tv, hairdryer, hot drink facilities and two delightful armchairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were even dressing gowns and slippers provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
