<\/a><\/p>\nAfter three exciting and fun packed days at the Edinburgh Fringe, we were in need of a bit of rest, fresh air and time for us.<\/p>\n
We had heard really good things about Pitlochry and in particular about Craigmhor Lodge.<\/p>\n Pitlochry is a delightful Scottish town with a small high street offering places to eat, tourist shops and behind the railway, which lies parallel to the town, is a river that has a Hydro Dam and staircase for Salmon to climb during spawning season.<\/p>\n A suspension footbridge straddles the river and leads to the purpose-built Festival Theatre, where on one evening we saw the show Quality Street.<\/p>\n But I digress.. back to Craigmhor Lodge and Courtyard which were set just above the town. Not 5 minutes walk away from the town centre stands a lovely house amongst pine trees and a stream. In the courtyard there stands an ‘L’ shaped building containing all the rooms bar one, that I believe is in the main house.<\/p>\n The welcome we received from Alison was warm, friendly, helpful and informative.<\/p>\n Our room, a little bit of an indulgence, was the Master Suite. It consisted of an ensuite with a bath and separate shower, toilet and sink. In the main bedroom which had its own small balcony, we had a table with chairs, couch, rug, DVD, tv, coffee machine, fridge and even a sound system that we could hook our mobile phones up to.<\/p>\n The bedroom was large\u00a0but cosy, clean and very homely.<\/p>\n Breakfast was served from the main house which offered a thoughtful selection of food for everyone’s taste.
